How it all started...
In 2003 Pastor Fran Mather was led by the Holy Spirit to begin Gateway Fellowship in Addison, his original hometown, based on Luke 4:18: "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed."
In 2005 he retired passing the torch to Pastors Scott Root and Scott L. Towner who continued the Luke 4:18 vision until Pastor Root was called elsewhere.
In 2007 Scott L. Towner became the Senior Pastor and has led Gateway ever since receiving the promise from God that the gates of Hell would never prevail against and that our lampstand would always be lit!
In 2021 our numbers grew to the point where our venue could no longer sustain us, and we moved to 8 Front Street in Addison where we're currently holding services. We're looking to secure our own building as we speak!
We're always seeking God's next step in the mission he's given us, to spread the Gospel in our area and make disciples of all the Father sends to us!

Expanding the vision...
God has called Gateway to minister to the community of Addison and beyond! Every year we feature a Food Box giveaway, Christmas Food Baskets, and the Great Christmas Giveaway (a free yard sale). We're always seeking ways to expand these ministries and start others!
Where we are headed...
In Pastor Scott's first year of ministry God granted him an amazing prophetic dream for the future, showing that Gateway's Lampstand would never be taken away! In the dream, he walked down a long dark corridor with a shining Light at the end which could clearly be seen. The closer he got to that Light the brighter it became and the more the darkness faded away.
Suddenly we were translated to the top of a high mountain and could see the New Jerusalem, shining in all it's glory! Joy overtook us as we ran toward our wonderful inheritance to live forever with the Lord!
This dream was granted by the Lord after Pastor Scott asked Him to reveal Gateway's future. We invite you to become part of our fellowship and let's walk God's path together!
